Turn competitor posts into a posting schedule
Instead of guessing when a competitor publishes, compare a sample of their existing posts. InstaTimestamp extracts a time from the Instagram media shortcode and groups the results by local weekday and hour.
Copy several post links
Open a public competitor's Instagram posts or Reels and use Copy link. You don't need to log into InstaTimestamp.
Paste them together
Enter multiple URLs, choose your timezone, and generate a posting-time heatmap instantly.
Spot their routine
See whether they concentrate posts on particular weekdays or evenings. Export the dates to CSV for your own research.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter a username and automatically analyze every post?
Not in the free, browser-only version. An Instagram username doesn't contain a history of post links. Automatic discovery requires a separate retrieval system. This tool deliberately avoids paid lookup requests.
Does this show the best time to post on Instagram?
No. It shows when the supplied posts were published, not which times caused the most engagement. It cannot identify the highest-performing time slots without engagement data.
How many posts can I analyze for free?
The free version analyzes up to 10 valid unique post or Reel links for one competitor. The planned Pro version will support larger samples and side-by-side competitor comparison.
Do you store or fetch my competitor's posts?
No. This tool decodes the links in your browser, without requesting the posts' media or storing your input on an InstaTimestamp server.
What time does an Instagram post's shortcode represent?
InstaTimestamp decodes the timestamp encoded into the media ID. It is a practical indicator of the media's creation/publication time, not a measurement of when followers first saw it or when it reached peak engagement.
